I deleted my blog but want to restart it

  1. I tried to transfer over from blogger but when I did it looked terrible so I decided to wait until I had time to transfer everything properly.

When i tried to do it again I couldn't get the address back, but I don't care to have a wordpress account that is different than my blogger account (I'm trying to move to wordpress) Since I was the one who originally registered the wordpress blog can I not just start it again? I wasn't sure how to delete all the content and I didn't want to have my blog on two sigtes at the same time so I guess I ruined my .wordpress.com blog forever?

  2. To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click.

You cannot recover or register any deleted blog URL. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

All you had to do was post a thread here and you would have had support from us Volunteers and if required from Staff.

  4. Yup, that's what I thought.

It was late and i didn't want to have 2 blogs up, I figured i would restart later. I'm sure wordpress is great (looks really good) but I can't really change the address now.

Oh well, most things on the internet seem to stay there forever, i've hit on the one thing that is gone forever!

  5. You can always make blog visibility private when going through the export import process. > Settings > Reading

A sub-domain URL can be replaced by purchasing a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
