I don't have a user button on my sidebar

  1. I don't have a "users" button on my sidebar. I can't figure out how to add users and it is very frustrating. Please help.

The blog I need help with is amandamaclean.wordpress.com.

  2. I don't have a clue what you mean by button for adding users in sidebar. Please expand.

  3. If you would like a follow button to appear on the bottom right hand corner of your site for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts see here >

Find Friends Who Use WordPress > http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2012/05/01/find-friends/

You can customize the contact form with multiple fields, change the email address where you'll be notified, and mark feedbacks as spam from your dashboard. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/

See also Inviting Contributors, Followers, and Viewers http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/
Note: As a spammer prevention you are limited to sending out 10 invitations at one point in time.

  4. You can create a blogroll and enter the links into it and display them in a Links widget.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/blogroll/add-a-blogroll-link/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/links-widget/

The RSS Widget displays posts from any RSS feed. You might find this handy if you want to show off one of your other blogs, or one of your favorite blogs, in your sidebar.

  5. Timethief,

Note that in the instructions for adding contributors, step #1 says to go to Users. There is no "Users" on the sidebar options on my dashboard. I see "Tools" and "Settings" but not "Users." It simply isn't there. So the instructions are useless to me.

    Please advise.

  6. Also, in my original post I did not write the part that said "The blog I need help with is amandamaclean.wordpress.com" - it must have automatically been added to my message. I am trying to get help for my blog entitled freedreamerssociety. However the same problem applies to all of my blogs. I'm not seeing a "Users" option anywhere on my dashboard.

Also I am not able to change the theme for freedreamerssociety. When I go to add a theme I've selected, freedreamerssociety isn't listed as one of my blogs to add the theme to. What's happening?

  7. You need to be an Admin to see the Users option in the Dashboard

May we have the full URL for freedreamerssociety ? It might not be a WordPress.COM blog or it might be attached to a different account

do you have more than one account / user name here?

  8. I should only have one account. There is another user for freedreamerssociety, her username is Brookegale. Is she the admin for that site?

    the url is http://freedreamerssociety.wordpress.com/

  9. If she is the Admin - she probably added you as an "Editor" so you will not have the ability to add users, change themes and a few other functions.

Having only one Admin is a standard security recommendation since we have a steady stream of people that had the second Admin trash the blog

If you need people added as users - you will need to send their info to the admin to invite them in
