I don't see my new blog post in READER under "Blogs I follow"

  1. My new blog posts aren't appearing in blogs I follow
    Blog url: http://thabto.wordpress.com/

  2. If you are referring to the Topics pages then please read the reasons for non-appearnce of posts on those pages here > Topics > missing posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts

  3. I'm not clear if you mean the Reader > http://wordpress.com/#!/read/
Or if you mean the Topics pages > http://wordpress.com/#!/read/topics/

  4. Hi, Timethief!
No, my posts show up under TOPICS.

I mean READER, on the mainpage after you log in. It reads horizantally: New Post, Reader, Notifications, Stats, etc.,..
Under READER, listed vertically, you have Blogs I Follow, Find Friends, etc..

When I click READER, then Blogs I Follow, I get all of the newest posts from the blogs which I follow, listed from newest to oldest. I follow my own blog, and I noticed yesterday that my posts weren't appearing for me under Reader. Today, the ones from yesterday are now there, but you have to scroll through 24 hours of blog posts to get to them.
And the one that I posted today...isn't there.
I know that many of the folks that follow me use READER to track my posts, so this will be problematic for me.

Any suggestions? This is the first time I've seen this.

  5. Thanks for the explanation. Understood. I'm sorry but we Volunteers can't help with Reader issues. Only Staff can and this thread is flagged for Staff attention.

  6. Thanks, regardless, TT.

First time I've had a problem. Any guess how long it takes for them to respond?

  7. Sorry but it's the weekend and I don't want to speculate as to when a Staff member will appear here and help you.

  8. Fair enough.

One more question, TT: if I do NOT get a response from anyone, is there a direct box/site/email/portal which I can use to contact someone?

I feel a bit like I'm sending up smoke signals, which is an odd feeling since we're on an electronic communication service.

Again, thanks for your feedback. It's appreciated tremendously.

  9. This is not an urgent matter and there is no contact link you can use to expedite Staff attending to this. I advise you to use social media like Twitter and/or Facebook etc. to get the word out that you have published a post while you wait for Staff to respond in this thread.

  10. That's what I did.

Now here's the funny thing: they just suddenly appeared (mysteriously).
They weren't there and now they are, .....about 8 hours later.

Should be interesting if this happens again, since I have no idea what the reason for the delay was?

Again, TimeThief, I appreciate your help and input.

  11. They weren't there and now they are, .....about 8 hours later.

Where? I see do not see any Staff members posting to this forum at this point in time.

  12. I don't have a clue what is going on or what happened.

All I know is that my two posts from Saturday and my one from this morning weren't in READER (under Blogs I Follow), then about 4:30 on Sunday: bam!... there they all are.

Now, they weren't there previously. I went back and forth more than a dozen different times looking, ...and my gravatar is kinda hard to miss, being bright yellow and all.

Why would there be such a prolonged delay? I haven't the foggiest.

That's why I changed the topic to "resolved", because there's nothing to see.
    Now.

  13. If you want Staff to investigate what happened and help you then you need to remove the "resolved" as nothing has been resolved.

  14. Just changed it back.....

  15. OK, now I have no more hits accruing on my blog. I just picked up several likes, and added another Follower, etc, ...and yet somehow not a single hit registered?

Everything has worked like a charm for the past two months, and now I confess, I have no idea what is going on.

  17. There are several different ways that readers can start following your blog.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/following/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/followers/

A follower can click the “like” button without visiting your blog and creating a page view stat.

    • A follower can click the “like” button when viewing your posts in the Readomatic reader on the home page of WordPress.com
    • A follower can click the “like” button when viewing your posts on the Topics pages.
    • A follower can click the “like” button when viewing your posts when using an app.
    • An email subscriber can click the “like” button in the email they receive of your new posts without visiting your blog.

Note: To compel readers to click into my blog to read the full post I have set my RSS Feed to “summary” on this page > Settings > Reading

Your blog followers is the sum of the following:

    • You're a Godsend, TT.
      Thanks for the info.

I'll be poring over this for the next hour or so.
      Thanks again!

    • If you need more help then feeel free to return and post again.

    • HI, TT!
Just was wondering if someone was supposed to actually contact me with what happened this weekend, and see if they might offer an explanation?
Or, if they aren't, should I just close this out, and hope it never happens again?

It doesn't appear to be a problem now, ...but it certainly for the majority of the weekend.

      Many thanks..

    • Hi there,
If you want to enter the top of the thread and mark it "resolved" I'll leave that call up to you. But "no" Staff don't normally follow-up threads like this one and provide explanations.
