I am a new here at wordpress and just had my new site published here. I know its hard to get viewers in our site/blog/pages everyday.
So..I had this idea...
Anyone who wants their blog/site to be posted in my links of bloggers (it will be in my homepage)

This may seem like a good idea on the surface and it is a good idea if you don't give a fig about page ranking, and don't know how it works. But if you do care and do want to become informed then read Understanding Reciprocal and Non-Reciprocal Links
If your web pages and the site get a lot of reciprocal (two-way links), especially if they are not related then the search engines will assume that these are solicited links, and search engines do not give much importance to such two-way or reciprocal links and may even penalize your site.
So T T, as i can make out, as long as my blogroll members are commenting and visiting my site at times, all is fine. If they are not that's bad.

Personal blogs have a very large scope when it comes to topical content so you have no need to be concerned. I feel squeamish when I see a flock of newbies doing the reciprocal link exchange thing when they don't know much or even anything at all about linking strategies.
If you want to have a Blogroll that's cool. They are not required and I don't see A list bloggers with lengthy blogrolls. I don't have a Blogroll as such. I have Links page that directs my readers to directly related blogs in the same niche that I recommend to them. I also have Friends Page where I link to those who have shown a pattern of commenting on my blog and encouraging me to continue to blog.
When it comes to a blog earning page rank hat's by far more important is noting that:
(1) Google does not place high value on reciprocal links;
(2) Google places even less value on reciprocal links to unrelated blogs;
(3) Posting a thread soliciting links here on a forum where every thread is indexed by Google is something I wouldn't be doing;
(4) Google does place high value on the backlinks within posts to directly related posts in blogs in the same niche. In other words, Google is looking for natural linking patterns.

and all I can say is... all we wanted , is to make our blog/site much more visible to the internet..and aim that more people will come and visit us. Because when you make your own blog/site aren't you having a networking connection with other social sites? .. and there is widget that whenever you post an article in your website it will automatically post that link to your social site and people will be clicking that link and they will be redirected to your site.. by then ---- viewing your site/blog will give them a chance to click on other authors/bloggers/website owners...and it helps =) at least one way or the other people will come and visit the other ones too.. not just me ... lets say people have this thing called "CURIOSITY" so I know...it will help others to gain a percentage of visit =) .... I know its not much but at least it helps ...

@ kathflores23, like timethief i don't have a blogroll i have a links page, with about 20 people who have swapped links. It does not say they will visit or that i will get hits from their site, i do get some.
The best way is to visit other sites and comment in posts then people will visit, but don't comment to much or you might be called a spammer or a troll :)
Comment all you want on mine, it makes me feel speshulz. :)

Haha it's okay, I don't tell people I'm putting them in my blog roll I just do it, basically so I have quick access to the blogs I read more than anything so it's all good :D

You are on the right track. You aren't soliciting reciprocal link exchanges and that means you are on the right track.

With respect I state that I have blogged for over 6 years and you have no useful advice you can offer me when it comes to linking. I don't advise soliciting reciprocal link exchanges and I have posted why above. That blah, blah, blah you posted is meaningless, given the facts I posted. If you are offended by this then it will be you problem not mine. My recommendation is that you hold off with the blah, blah, blah and read what I posted because it's in your best interest to do so.

If you don't like the fact that we can all post into any thread here as long as what we post is on-topic and does not violate the rules of conduct then that's unfortunately something you will have to deal with.

Well, you have been given advice by one of the top advisors in the forum, T T was trying to help you understand how to do things, but if you want to act like a complete and utter ass hole, carry on.
I'm sure the people who read this post and what you said to her, will not go near your blog and not link to you, i thought about it, but not now.

Yes, it is an good PR. Consider the time frame ie. it's less than 6 months since you began that blog. Your writing is high quality, original, grammatically correct and entertaining. You are using keywords naturally ie. no keyword stuffing. You appear to know that assigning the least combined number of relevant Categories and Tags that to your posts is the way to go. I repeat. Your blog has earned a respectable PR. So don't forget id and when you choose (yuck!) to enter reciprocal link exchanges with those who have blogs that lack a PR, or have a lower PR, or that have unrelated content to yours that it's their blogs that gain and not yours - capice?

In the first place..the way she talk on my idea? ..its like she talked about it as "nonsense" for having people's links on my homepage and started explaining everything. I have nothing against that... but I got pissed off on her last post the way she talked to me... If my idea is not as helpful and not best as she thinks.. its ok... but she should have respect ... not talkin like that...besides I am not forcing anyone to participate and why would she talk about "based on Google provides to webmasters"...or whatever...
