Witches are not evil individuals. We are the same as everyone else. We do not worship the devil. In fact, we do not even recognize that a devil exists. The reason we exist is to help mankind, not harm him. It is our mission to do good toward man, take care of Mother Earth and all that encompasses Her.
I won't lie to you, some of us do practice magick and some do not. Even you could cast a spell with the proper training. Everyone has the power within themselves to perform magick. It is up to the individual to look deep inside themself and find that power. Then after the power is found, the individual would have to learn how to control it. They can either try it by theirself or find a mentor.
I am sorry I didn't mean to ramble but it just hurts my heart that you have the wrong impression of Witches. The stuff you see on TV is not real at all. In fact, Hollywood has been responsible for giving us the reputation we have. They have done nothing but continuously portraited us as ugly old hags with green skin, long nose and oh, yes don't forget that wart! It is just so sad. I don't know if you ran across the WOTC's mission statement or not. But it is the WOTC's mission to spread the truth about our Religion. Show its true beauty and most of all the Loving Goddess.
