I heartily agree with your opinions of the new "improved" editor. There are some improveme

  • I heartily agree with the opinions others re the new “improved” editor. There are some improvements but not enough to justify it. Because it is such a pain to try to outwit being forced to use it, I gave in on my MusticalTidbits site, but on my other sites, though the “classic” version no longer works, there is no option to change to the new one, and they are now dead in the water! Please help with these sites:

    durgama.com
    lifemasteryselfcoaching.com
    phoenixmetaphysical.com

    Thank you,
    Durga Ma

If you are interested, this is my list in progress of +’s and -‘s re the new editor:.

+ Don’t have to find your place when returning to the editor (used to always return to the top of the article)

    – Can’t get directly from edit to posts

    – Number of words does not show up on expanded view

    – Too many things cluttering up expanded view, above and below – the auto appearance of tools was great

+ Reappears where you left off when returning from a Save

    – The new Posts page is ridiculously clumsy, and inefficient. You can’t see things all at once. I work far in advance of a post time and this is a problem. I have to go back to Classic at this point.

_ No word count on expanded view

+ Full tool box accessible in expanded view

    – The title doesn’t appear on expanded view

    – Doesn’t always scroll all the way to the bottom in expanded view

+ I can leave my work and come back to it without fear that it is going to go away. YEAH!

  • Hi Durga,

Thanks for the feedback. Just a couple things:

You can go back to the Classic Editor from the new one as seen here:

    Screen Shot

It is based on cookies, so what you choose will be remembered. So if you decide to choose the new editor, from then on when you click edit on a post it should go to the new editor.

This would not be the case if you disabled your cookies.

Also, when you are creating your post, I highly recommend clicking Save Draft! I do that in any editor that I’m working in.

    Cheers!
