Hi, so I created a new blog and then thought that was stupid I just wanted to change my blogs name so i deleted the new blog, and went to try to change the name of my old blog to what i HAD called my new blog, and now it says the blog name is taken. How can I change my old blog to that name because I don't want to lose all that content.
The blog I need help with is thescarletapple.wordpress.com.

Site Titles and/or optional Taglines can be easily changed at any time here > Settings > General.
Not so when it comes to blog addresses ie. URLs. http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
Note that if you do not purchase a site redirect upgrade then every links will be broken and all the page rank, authority and backlinks the original blog URLs has earned are gone forevermore.
If you do change your blog address, permalinks to your old address, including search engine results, will be broken unless you purchase a Site Redirect upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
7. The final option presented on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade.
It's too bad you ignored the 3 warnings and then clicked the verification link required to delete the blog. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled.

You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

That could have been said in a much more polite way. As the rules clearly state to keep discussion on the topic on hand I wont say more, though I do hope your obviously hard day gets better.
anyway, cheers for that. I blame complete mental exhaustion for not realising that the URL could not be recycled. thankfully it was just a URL that was deleted and not my blog with all the content. As I want to change the title of my primary blog, I will simply pay the necessary $18 so that the blog can be linked with other social networking for a PhD project. Cheers for your help - even though it was full of snark that wasn't really necessary. To be fair, i didn't read the copy pasted stuff - just the info I actually needed - because i haven't yet had coffee!
