I'd like a theme to use as starting point for building a site for a school. i'd like the end user to be able to add events to a calendar, and to be a able to reference the class description by clicking on the calendar, or if they are on the description, be able to see upcoming class dates.
it's the kind of thing that might be used for a Gym, a small college, a high school, or similar.
Any ideas?

I do not think any of the themes are likely to be able to handle that sort of functionality - it is just too far from what a blog is designed to do. While it would be possible to do it using some of the WordPress functionality, it would probably have to be done using a self-hosted blog and some serious coding.
A better solution would probably be to use Google Calendar, which from my use of it supports that kind of thing natively.
