I need help with moving followers

  1. I would like to transfer followers from my wordpress.com site to my wordpress.org site.
The original site is cathycantunes.wordpress.com, and the new site is thedetail.net
Can you assist? i have looked for a plugin, but haven't been able to find one. I have installed jetpack and the sites are linked.

The blog I need help with is cathycantunes.wordpress.com.

  2. Provided you have installed and activated the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and you post the relevant URL(s) into a forum thread, Staff will do the transfer of both subscribers and stats for you. I have tagged this thread for their attention.

  3. Wonderful! Thank you.

  4. Hi there, I transferred your followers to your new blog at thedetail.net, as requested. :)

Your email followers will continue to receive email updates, and your WordPress.com followers will continue to see your new posts in the Reader. If your WordPress.com followers would like to receive email updates, as well, they can subscribe via email on your new blog.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that!

  5. Thank you! How long will it take for those subscribers to appear on my site? I have some WordPress subscribers and some e-mail subscribers. Also wondering how I can have those followers combined with my facebook followers to show a total on the website. My old wordpress.com theme, suburbia, used to do this. My new wordpress.org theme, MH Magazine (free version) doesn't appear to offer a way to do this.

  6. If I need to start a new thread on look at another thread about the combined follower count question, let me know. I'm a newbie - and I appreciate what you've done. :)

  7. You can view your subscribers from your WordPress.org dashboard by following the instructions on this page: http://jetpack.me/support/subscriptions/#view-your-email-subscribers

It may take a little time for the subscriber count to update on your website itself. If you don't see the updated number of subscribers there, you may need to refresh your browser or clear your browser's cache.

However, right now you won't see your Facebook followers (or other social media followers) included in your subscriber count. That's currently only available here at WordPress.com. Your WordPress.org site will display your WordPress.com and email subscribers only.

  8. Thanks for your help! I had 56 subscriber followers on the wordpress.com site, and now I have 47 on my new site, thedetail.net.
I don't see a list of subscribers when I look at users on my dashboard. Is the data on it's way, or is there something I'm missing? Thank you!

  9. Nevermind - I figured it out. Thanks!
