I need help with sidebars and widgets

    Hello everybody. I'm totally new to wordpress. I have set my blog up primarily as a website with static pages. I am using the Twenty Eleven theme. Right now, there is no sidebar displaying on my site and I do not know how to make one display. I would like for a sidebar to display on my entire site (on every page). I tried to add the facebook like widget to my site but it's not showing up. There is nothing on my sidebar. The things I want on my sidebar are: facebook like widget, flickr widget, etc. If somebody can help me out with simple step by step instructions, I'd really appreciate that. Thank you.

    Then you will have to change themes as the way the theme is coded to operate is described here > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyeleven/

    There is nothing on my sidebar.
