I signed up for a blog at wordpress.com NOT wordpress.org. I plan on doing a domain mapping to get the link on my website but now I have a problem. I need to be able to sell things. I have already purchased a template and everything on my wordpress.com but only wordpress.org allows for plugins.

is there a way I can sell stuff simply using wordpress.com? Or can I transfer to wordpress.org without having to buy a template twice.

The blog I need help with is booksandbeatsblog.wordpress.com.

  2. WordPress.com free hosted blogs cannot be equipped for ecommerce transactions via shopping carts. You can only use a contact form for the sale of items your yourself create and/or services your yourself provide http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/ and/or a PayPal donation button on a free hosted WordPress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

If you do require an ecommerce site, online store, shopping cart, advertising and/or affiliate links you can hire a web host and get a free software install from http://wordpress.org Refer to > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I planned on adding a PayPal donation button but I plan on selling Items not accepting donations. WordPress.com does not allow users to implement web Forums on the website which is the code I need to put the 'buy' botton on my website. The instructions say to utilize the code for 'email' to implement as the link url to the image but the 'buy button' does not give you the code for email only for a website. The donation gives you the code for both email and website but again I am not looking to take in donations but to sell things. How do I resolve this?

  4. I'm sorry but as our blogs cannot be equipped for eCommerce and as we are not allowed to sell any merchandise or services we do not ourselves personally create or provide, the only documentation we have is for the PayPal donation button. It's clear to me that in order to meet your goal you need to hire a web host and set up your own self hosted WordPress.ORG install so you can have an online store.
