I need to chat with a homo sapian

  1. human being

The blog I need help with is superbeekman.com.

  2. If I don't chat with a human soon.... I will take this "blog" and blog it over a blog blog..... Damn blogging bogger bloggers!

  3. Usually one humanoid wishing to communicate to another would display signs of good manners and graciousness. I will understand this is a sincere attempt to ask a question to solve a problem and assure you that we are are people here in these forums. We are none of us mind readers though, so please ask your question.

  4. If you just want to chat, however, there are services for that but they generally charge by the minute and you need to confirm you're at least 18.

  5. Sorry.... New at this... Just frustrated at loosing a long post and several pictures.... Didn't mean to offend anyone by saying... "damn", or "blog" or "Homo Sapien"... Just trying to figure this out... Thanks for your witty responses....

  6. re: loosing a long post
Please be sure you are running one of the browser versions here http://browsehappy.com first.

You may be able to recover an earlier post revision. Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/

If you're not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules Then you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post and recover it from post revisions.

If you cannot locate the post for locating and restoring a post revision, and it's not in your Trash folder http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/ then you will not be able to recover it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash

Did you create your post on the dashboard of your own blog?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New

Or did you create your post on the front page of WordPress.com?
    http://wordpress.com/#!/post/

    Advice:
Create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New

Or use an offline blog editor so you always have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

  7. re: and loosing several pictures

    (1) Are these missing images found in your Media Library ie. did you upload them from your computer onto WordPress.com servers? Or are they hosted on another site?

    (2) Are you trying to edit posts or pages and/or upload images into a post on the WordPress.com home page? http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ Or are you working on the dashboard of your own blog?

    (3) If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

    (3) For details about the options for uploading images see:
    http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/04/26/images-the-three-link-options/

    (4) For troubleshooting images tips see > http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/troubleshooting-images/

    (5) Which posts or pages have missing images? Without the URLs we cannot even begin to help you.

Note: The annoying factor for me is the implication that we Volunteers are not human beings. There is no zombie nomophobiac support here.

We are all human beings and we bloggers are all publishers. That means we ought to be fully capable of following written instructions like these http://learn.wordpress.com.

Granted there are nomophobiacs (cell phone addicts) who do blog and who are unable function without cell phones glued to their heads, but I assure you that there are no Volunteers answering questions here who are living dead nomophobiacs.

  8. Thanks for clearing that up about the nomophobiacs! I really didn't mean to offend anyone by saying "Homo Sapien"... or Human. This is my first blog ever.... I was under the impression that there was a "Help Chat" option to speak to a person. I couldn't find it.... and after searching for long periods of time... I got frustrated and asked the Gods for a human. Just silly frustration. I had no idea you were volunteers.... I had no idea anyone was even up that late.... I had no idea I was posting to many people.... I thought it was a Help chat. I hope this can be buried along with all the Zombies and never awaken from the dead. Please forgive me... I beg you.... I'll never call you or anyone a human again.... If I have crossed the "Word Press" line... and everyone is going to "school" me on what it mean to call someone "human".... it's good to know now, so I can just go somewhere else to do this blog about getting prosthetic legs for my dog.

That said, I think you nailed the problem(s).... 1. I've been using Firefox as my browser.... 2. I have not emptied the cache or cookies and still have to figure out how to do that. 3. I've been entering new post from the wordpress side.... and not the Dashboard. 4. The pictures that "disappeared" did not disappear from the Media page, just my home page... the small picture that you are supposed to see.....

Anyway.... now... I don't even care.... maybe I'll work on it some other time.... I really feel badly that I offended... all of the Word Press Volunteers.... I seriously thought it was like dealing with a phone recording for AT&T and you have to ask for a human being.... Then you get customer service. I was wrong.. .you were right.... Isn't this fabulous and now I'm going to shop around. But thanks for figuring that out. I'm sure that's right. :)
