Blog pimping...gee.
I'm basically a lazy person : I only want to spend time reading/skimming blogs that I like because they are: well-written, have some images and not overly wordy.
It's actually a small range of blogs that I look.
I have to admit I do some of those things. Hahah.
Gold! Pure gold! That is kind of what I was talking about in that other thread.

I'm familiar with many of those "techniques" because they're very common on writing sites and forums as well (e.g. AW, Authonomy... not necessarily bad sites, but with a lot of bs from people just trying to promote themselves).
Good thing is, though, after a few years of practically living on sites like this and blogging, I've learned it's pretty easy to spot insincerity. Most of these people aren't as good at pimping their blogs as they think they are.
The way I see it is I will get out of blogging what I put into it, and so the best thing I can do is be sincere with my own actions.

It's too bad she used so many categories/tags on the post. When we do that it's missing from the global tag pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/global-tags/ and the search engines can also choose to dump it into the supplementary index.
I really loved this one. I can't imagine spending all that energy doing stuff like that -- life takes plenty of energy w/o frittering it away with insincerity and taking part in activities you don't enjoy with people whom you don't like (or, in the case of those two women, whom you apparently despise).
