How can you take off the the widgets that the author of the theme already has on the blog
The blog I need help with is learnthevote.wordpress.com.

I used a theme and I want to take off the authors sidebar and put my info.

By placing your own widgets in there, the widgets that are showing are default when no other widgets are present.
Appearance > Widgets via your dashboard.
