I WANT MY OLD THEME BACK!

I wanted to sample a different theme; I didn't like it, but even though I didnt save it, it has activated itself. I really, really WANT MY OLD THEME BACK. But I know you don't want me to have it because you think its too old. I LOVE MY THEME AND IT HAS EXACTLY THE RIGHT VIBE. It was Misty Look. You often try and make me change to Misty Lake. Sorry, that is not the right one for my blog. How can I get my old theme back please?

The blog I need help with is franceskaywriter.wordpress.com.

  2. Turn off the cap locks key and know that SHOUTING! at those who are here to help is rude.

When themes like Misty Look no longer support all WordPress features they are retired. http://theme.wordpress.com/retired/mistylook/

Provided the blog in question has had Misty Look on it before you can still use it. You can quickly and easily change themes to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.

Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and browse themes until you find one you like and click "activate" or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the "activate" link when it appears.

After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

But if it's a new blog that has not run that theme on it before then you cannot use it and will have to choose another theme.

Thank you so much. The original comment from me was actually sent, I thought, to WordPress support staff - I didnt realise they would just post it here, so apologies for the caps. I had spent some time fiddling around trying to get it back. Your answer has given me what I need. I've always had Misty Look so I should be able to get it back. I felt cross with WordPress because they have been trying for ages to get me to change my theme. Bless you.

Hi timethief. I just clicked on the link and sure enough I could look at my old theme, but that's all I can do. I can't put it back. I am really sad about this. But thanks for trying to help.

  5. I'm happy I was able to help but as your can tell I am a dragon lady when it comes to anyone SHOUTING! at me or at anyone else online.
Best wishes with your blog. :)

Hello again. I have got it back by following your helpful advice. Thanks so much. Please ignore previous message as I can't seem to edit it.
