I want to use Widgetbox widgets on my site.

  1. Why can I not use Widgetbox widgets or other widgets onto my wordpress.com website? I understand if I upgrade to the wordpress.org site I can use many widgets, but I am kind of not having fun with the thought of paying for this.
I thought there would be some sort of flexibility by using the .com page and that we could add fun widgets to our free site?
    Thanks :)

The blog I need help with is coffeetimeblogtime.wordpress.com.

  2. Widgetbox requires the use of code that gets stripped out by WordPress.com due to the fact that this is a shared environment, and certain embed codes can cause security issues. For more info, read the following article:

That being said, most of the things that the Widgetbox widgets can do are already available from widgets that are built into WordPress (Twitter feed, RSS feed, etc.)

The difference between WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG, is that WordPress.com is a shared environment offered as a service, where as WordPress.org is where you can download (for free) the WordPress software itself to run on your own web host.
