If I change themes and don't like it can I revert back to how my site was before

  • I am not having a problem. I just have a question. If I change themes and don’t like it, can I revert back to how my site was before the switch? I do not want to loose all the work I have done on my site if the new format messes everything up.

  • Your content will be safe, you will probably need to do a bit of fussing with the Widgets and the colors if you changed colors or header image.

There is no “Undo the theme” magic button

  • If you change themes, you will not lose the content on your site.

As a long-time volunteer here on WordPress.com, my advice would be to set up a second private experimental free blog. Then export your live site to that second blog. With an experimental blog, you can change themes over and over until you find one you like. Your readers will not be aware of your changes while you experiment! Then when you find a theme you love, you can quickly switch your real and live site to the new look very professionally.
