If I upgrade to a premium package will wordpress still be able to place ads?

  1. I have found ads on my blog (placed by wordpress, not me) and I understand why. If I upgrade to a premium package, will ads still be able to be placed by wordpress? Or is the only way not to have ads placed, is to purchase the no ad upgrade? thank you!

The blog I need help with is riperedberries.wordpress.com.

Currently the $99 Value Bundle includes a 1 year subscription to:

    Domain Name & Mapping
    Space Upgrade
    No Ads
    Custom Design
    VideoPress

Other than that, it's the $30 No Ads upgrade individually.

Not really sure what you mean by 'premium package' but if you mean a Premium Theme, that would not remove ads.

  4. Thank you. Yes, I meant to write Premium Theme. Sounds like one has to spend $99 per year to not have ads placed. Thank you so much! Big help!

No, you can buy the NoAds upgrade for $30

  6. oh yes, thank you. I love blogging, it's the technical aspect that is challenging for me. I don't like seeing ads on my posts - especially as my content is often about not buying...ironic. But, I do understand why wordpress does it. Thank you again for your help!

  7. Do you know if wordpress removes existing ads once one purchases the NoAds upgrade? Or do they stay? thanks in advance!

  8. They are removed if and when you purchase a No-Ads upgrade.

That being said people report ads that are not being placed by WordPress.com at all. If the ads you see are found at the end of blog posts then what you are seeing is WordPress.com generated advertising. Look for the About These Ads link. http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/
Those are the ads WordPress.com places and any others you see are likely due to browser add-ons

  9. Thank you! I'll be sure to check out all the links and I will then buy the NoAd upgrade, as the ads are just not inline with my intent...I do hope to eventually gain advertisers - but advertisers inline with my viewpoint. Thank you again! Happy Holidays.

  10. You're welcome and Happy Holidays!
