If my custom CSS expires...

    If my custom CSS expires does my website still look the same afterwards? Or does it revert back to the original look.

    It will revert back to the original theme and you will lose your customisations. You need to renew the upgrade every year if you want to keep using and changing your own CSS. You will get a reminder from the wordpress team a week or two before it runs out though, so don't worry too much about forgetting.
