I'm having trouble with webmaster tools and my blog

I read that I should submit my blog to google indexing, and then do the structured markup data to put what would appear in the google search under my website.

I submitted my website url to the webmaster tools a few weeks ago, but as soon as I put the url and clicked submit, that was it and nothing else showed up on the webpage so I just closed it and thought I was done. Well when I search my blog it doesn't show up and when I go to webmaster tools it lists:

Authorship is not working for this webpage.

Email verification has not established authorship for this webpage.

Cannot verify that rel=author markup has established authorship for this webpage.

I already put the rel=author code on my "about me" in my blog, and I linked my blog to my google plus profile. But is still says:
Link (direct or indirect) from website to Google+ profile: No

I also tried to do the e-mail verification but I have not received a message in my e-mail to verify anything.

I really don't know what to do from here... my blog doesn't even show up when I search my blog name.

The blog I need help with is thatchickwithmd.wordpress.com.

  2. There are two different issues here.

You can verify your WordPress.com site with Google's webmaster's tools by following these instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/ When you have the long string of verification code from Google, enter it under Dashboard>Tools>Available Tools on the line for Google Webmaster tools.

As far as claiming Authorship. this is automatically added when you connect your WordPress.com site to Google Plus. It adds both a link to your Google Plus profile under the Sharing buttons on your posts and pages, as well as adding you as a "Contributor to" your About page on your Google Plus Profile. http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-plus-profile/ and also http://wpcommaven.wordpress.com/2013/09/15/publicize-to-google-from-wordpress-com-one-size-fits-all/

After you have done the above actions, you should see your authorship reflected in the Google Structured Data Teseting tool.

As far as showing up in Google search results, your site is a week old. Keep posting and Google will get around to crawling your site.

Thank you. Finally got it working. I wasn't getting the long string verification code so I submitted again and now I was able to go through all the steps.
