    I'm also running windows.
    Do you have a blog hosted by wordpress.com? If so you are in the correct forum. But if you have downloaded wordpress.org software then you are in the wrong forum.
    The correct forum for those self hosting wordpress.org software or being hosted by anyone other than wordpress.com is here http://wordpress.org/support and this "Please read me first" sticky post explains the differences between the two http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=3700

    I think you cleared alot up for me. I have downloaded, and cant even so much as load wordpress. I'm in over my head thus far, yet only beginning. Thank you much, best of luck!!!
