   I just noticed that the file information I add to my images in PS CS4 is not being saved in the uploaded file to WP.

   YET, the very same JPEG image on my PC that I use for the upload DOES contain the file information (which is a copyright line, my contact information, and a copyright statment).

   Why is this information beign stripped out?

   You can see an example here where I have uploaded a file that had copyright file info saved with it and then uploaded to WP: http://milkayphoto.wordpress.com/2010/06/08/wheres-the-beef/

   Yes, the embedded watermark and visible copyright stamp is there, BUT if you right-click and 'save picture as' then look at the properties of the image on your PC, NO file info for copyright is included.

   This makes no sense so somewhere in the WP upload process, this information is not being captured.

   Please advise.

   This is the response I received from WP staff:

   Hi Tracy,

   Thanks for getting in touch with us.

   You are correct in that WordPress.com does not currently store all EXIF data in the database. It appears we have added fields since you originally uploaded the image, but it is still not a full exif record.

   This is an issue we are continuing to consider, because it can be beneficial to some users, such as yourself, but could present privacy concerns for others.

   Thanks for letting us know. It's possible we will add more exif data in the future.
