Image in post title

  1. I am wondering if, on posts, it is possible for an image to appear to the left of each title in a particular category. I am opening a gym and each day will be posting a different workout. The posts will all appear in a list of posts when I select that "page" from the menu nav bar. In the title of each post, it would be cool to have our gym "logo / symbol". I am using Mina Olen and my site is still private so can't give you a link. I am very new to CSS (this is my first experience with WordPress), so please let me know if I've not provided the correct information.

    The blog I need help with is www.crossfithubtown.com.

  2. Hi crossfithubtown,

    As long as you have the Custom Design product add-on so you can add your own css, you should be able to accomplish this.

    This is untested code but it should be a start to do what you're looking to do.

    article.category-uncategorized .entry-title::before {
      display: block;
      content: '';
      width: <your image width>px;
      height: <your image height>px;
      background-image: url(<your uploaded image url>);
      background-repeat: no-repeat;
    }

    You would need to create the image in the size you want it to appear and upload it to your Media section and then input the information into the code above.

    This is likely rough and would need tweaking, but should give you the idea I hope.

  3. http://www.crossfithubtown.com/ is not hosted by WordPress.COM This is the WordPress.COM support forum. And, you need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features and run different versions of some themes with the same names http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you don't have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

  4. @timethief, I was banking on this sentence.

    I am using Mina Olen and my site is still private so can't give you a link.

    I think he is working on a new site on WordPress.com and not the one linked at the bottom of the post.
