Image Issues

    Hi there,

I'm having a problem with images. I'm running a contest that centers around posting images on this blog: rpgchallenge.wordpress.com. I use the WordPress image tool (the button with the tree) to link to the images (all of which are taken from bibliodyssey.blogspot.com), and everything is fine. When I leave the blog, and then come back to it, it loads with only the Alt text for the images. When I go into the post editor, the image frames are there with the little broken image pic in the upper left corner; when I click on the image editor, the URL is still in it. If I copy the URL from the editor, then paste it into a new page to load the image, then copy the URL from that page, then paste it back into the URL editor, and hit "update", the image re-appears.

I did this for the two posts that are there so far, and it seemed fine, but I just re-loaded the site, and the same problem happened (and the same solution works, I tried it on an image).

So....the whole purpose of this blog is to display sets of images. All of the images are hosted from whatever blogger.com uses to host their uploaded images, as far as I know. Is there anything I can do?

    Thanks.

Blogger does not allow "hot-linking" to images in the blogs they host and then allowing bloggers to use their bandwidth to display images over here on wordpress blogs or elsewhere. You will have to upload all the images again into the wordpress server. The image maximum free image space for your blog is 50 megs. After that your have to purchase more space and all images should be optimised prior to uploading.

Instructions and free utilities for optimization can be found in the FAQs blog. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/08/optimise-your-images/

Huh. I didn't know that about blogger.

Yeh, I can host them myself, or re-upload to wordpress, no prob. Just one of those things.

    Thanks!

  4. You're welcome. :)

  5. It's mentioned in the FAQ but just in passing.
