Do you know about any converter to improve image quality. Once I tried to enhance pixels 500X500 to 5000X5000. But it was enhanced in size and image quality was as poor as of original.
My blog is about photography and I've lost my digital camera now and my cell phone has a camera of 5.2 megapixels only.
The blog I need help with is itspak.wordpress.com.

Basically, when you make a small picture larger the computer just makes the pixels bigger, think of it like drawing a face on a deflated balloon and then blowing it up. There really are no "enhancer" programs out there. Shoot your photos with the highest resolution and largest format your cell phone will give you, from there use your photo editing software to have some fun with effects. More importantly, get a new camera.
I love photography. Your blog is nice and you look like a professional photographer.
Once I won a photography competition in my school. Now I want to collect all of my photos taken when I was a child. But those pics are looking quite odd now.
My blog is private yet. I'll share it to you when the project will complete.

If you expect to be ablwe to enlarge an image to that degree and still preserve image quality then think again. Moreover, 5000 X 5000 is a huge image size that cannot be displayed on any WordPress.com theme so why waste your space?

If you are uploading images into a free hosted WordPress.com blog and want to have the highest image quality possible, then do not upload oversized images and use the WordPress.com cropper. If you do then image quality will be lost through either streteching or scrunching. Instead of relying on the cropper take these steps:

Or alternatively, please link your WordPress.com username to your primary WordPress.com blog so we can click the username and locate the blog in question instantly. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

If I change the format of my pics, say jpg to png will this change their quality too?
We Volkunteers cannot see into private blogs. We require the link so we can detrmin if you are really asking about a free hosted WordPress.com blog or if like 30% of those who post here you ought to be posting to http://wordpress.org/support/

I asked a general question. Also I'm well aware of difference between wp.com and wp.org

In fact it isn't related to WordPress.com blogging at all and hence is not actaully a WordPress.conm support question by your own declaration It's a photography and computer use question and Google is your friend. Despite that I have provided links to posts that do answer your question. In the future please choose not to post questions to this support forum that do not relate directly to your own WordPress.com blog and the use of WordPress.com software.

You simply cannot enlarge an image DPI from 500px to 5000px and retain any quality. You are asking software to decide where to add in 4500px in each direction (that is a total of 20,250,000 pixels for every square inch of image).
You can't even go 50% (from 500 to 750) without visible degradation in image quality, even in a high end program like Photoshop.

I'm telling you I did enhance the size up to 10 times. Image quality was not worse than the small one.
Note: I'm not talking about zoom.
If you want people to see your images and decide whether or not to download the high rez version, upload the high rez version AND the low rez one, display the low rez version, and then link it to the high rez.]
I agree with all the above, but if you insist, this is the way to do it.
I just tried to enhance the size from 500 to 5000. The only thing which did enhance was the size from 500Kb to 13Mb, which was damn. And the quality was not better at all. I thought there to be any online converter to enhance the quality of images. I came to a point that there is no magic like that.
No there's no magic like that. And if it was it would be useless, as most users' screens aren't wider than 1200px, and most wp.com themes have main columns a lot narrower than that.
For best quality you should use images at resolution 72, because that's what all browsers display, and at a pixel width that doesn't exceed the maximum for the theme your using, because images downsized by WP lose some color and sharpness. Anything larger than that means worse quality, waste of storage space, and slower page loading.
