Images disappeared after changing blog address & user name

    I recently changed my blog address and user name using the "change blog address" feature under My Blogs menu. Since the change, most of my images that I have attached to posts as well as social icons are gone (ie: when using Google Chrome browser, the images appear as having being broken). I viewed my blog using Firefox as well and still the images aren't there.

    I checked the media files and the URL of the files of the images seem to be updated reflecting the new blog address.

    I would like to know why this has occurred as well as some help with this issue. Thank you for any help.

    PS: I forgot to mention that I'm using Oxygen as theme. I've had a lot of problems with this theme prior to changing my blog address and user name as well.

    Can you give us a link to a post where the image is broken? Looking at the front page, I'd just guess that a lot of images weren't chosen as Featured Images, so they don't show on the front page but will show in the post. Oxygen is a tricky theme.

    Thank you for taking the time to respond.

    Actually, all of the images on my front page were clearly visible prior to the blog URL change and username change, including the featured posts, all the links to social icons, recent posts, as well as links I've posted on both the right and left hand side columns. As for the link to a post that you requested, if you could look at the post titled "responsibility of a journalist aka truth seeker" on the front page, that's supposed to have a image there but it's showing up as broken. If I gave you the link to the post, you wouldn't see the image because in Oxygen, you can only see the featured image when the post shows under "recent articles" on the front page, or as featured posts as a post slider on the front page also.

    You mentioned that Oxygen is a tricky theme. By "tricky" do you mean that it's known for having bugs and issues?

    No - it displays this image:

    The other two posts in the Recent Articles section also display their featured image, and so do the four posts in the slider. Perhaps you need to clear your browser's cache.

    as well as [image] links I've posted on both the right and left hand side columns.

    These images don't show because the URLs that are used in the Text or Image widgets are URLs of images that had been uploaded to the deleted blog http://kaorinews.wordpress.com/. The content of these widgets cannot change automatically: you'll have to re-upload the images and re-do the widgets.

    No - she only means that it's not a conventional theme and many users have difficulties figuring out how it works.

    Oxygen is tricky because of the way it handles featured images. I refer you to the theme forum and the Oxygen tag for help with that.

    Hello all, thank you for your suggestions. I was able to get back all of the images on the left and right hand columns as well as the social icons on the footer of my front page. However, after clearing out my Chrome browser cache, I'm still unable to see some of the other images, such as the post I mentioned above: "responsibilities of a journalist aka truth seeker" as well as images that are attached to posts that I've placed in the featured slider at the very top of the front page.

    I recognize that some of the URL of the image files are still linked to the old blog URL address. But the funny thing is, the URL of the image files that reflects the new blog address has been automatically changed. In other words, I wasn't the one that changed them. But some of the URL of the image files haven't been changed and still have the old blog address linked to it. My guess is that this is where the problem stems from. If some of the URL of the image files have automatically been changed to reflect the new blog address, then shouldn't ALL of the images in the Media Library reflect the new blog address and have changed as well?

    After my previous reply, I checked once more with my blog and for some reason, I can now see all of the images on my slider posts as well. I didn't do anything. I was busy writing my reply above and then after submitting my reply, I just went over to my blog which I had open in another tab on my browser.

    I don't know if this resolves my issue because some of the images appeared only to disappear again. I'll wait and see how things go. In the mean time, I have other issues that are completely unrelated to the disappearing act of images so I'll post it in a new topic thread. Thank you.

    a) As I said, I can see all the featured images on your front page.
    b) The fact that the images in your library changed URLs doesn't mean that the code in the widgets can change by itself.

    Yes, I know about the widgets that you mentioned. I went ahead and changed them as you suggested. What I was talking about was not about the images used in widgets, but the Media Library overall.
    Also, although you could see the featured images on my front page, I still couldn't, till for some reason I could without doing anything. So for me, the issue wasn't resolved, because the images should appear for everyone that accesses the blog, not just some people.

    I just reloaded my blog page and lo and behold, some of the images are missing from the slider as well as from one post under recent articles (the one about responsibilities and journalists). Not sure why this keeps on happening. And just to confirm, the images used in widgets have been manually updated by me and so those are OK. It's now the sliders and other posts that's still having problems.

    Before my initial reply I checked the sourcecode of your front page, and all the featured images had http://radiatingsmiles URLs, so they should show (and did show for me). But now I'm baffled: I just checked your blog again, and the FIs of the slider posts as well as the Responsibility post have reverted to http://kaorinews URLs (so they're not showing up). So better edit the posts and update the featured images yourself instead of waiting to see if and when this joke will end.

    @justipi, are you suggesting by any chance that I'm playing some kind of a joke by changing the URL of images to my old blog? I hope not because I've been spending hours on this and trying to resolve this issue.

    I don't know if this is the place to address it, but I think there's an obvious bug with the Oxygen theme here. Is there a way to get in touch with the technical support staff? I think it they should take a look at the theme functions. Thanks.

    I just reloaded my blog again after my recent reply and the images are all showing for the slider and the responsibility post. For some reason beyond my comprehension, the images appear then disappear, and I'm not doing anything except hit that reload button on my Chrome browser. I've only manually changed the URL for images in Widgets and the social icons, and that's all. I don't know why I keep on having problems with the images for the slider and the posts.

    I wrote "better edit the posts and update the featured images yourself instead of waiting to see if and when this joke will end". This cannot possibly mean that you are playing some kind of a joke, it means WP is doing that.
    If "there's an obvious bug", the bug has to do with the changed address of your blog, not with Oxygen.
