images don't stay where i place them

  1. hi, when i add images to my "articles" page they end up being staggered down the side of the page instead of in a nice straight line down the left of the page. when i add them they look the way i intend it to, but as soon as i hit the update button and view the page, they move on their own.as seinfeld would say, "what's the deal!?" thanks, AC

    The blog I need help with is acfitnessonline.com.

  2. That is because when an image is set for "left align" text will keep wrapping until it is below the image, then it will wrap back to the left margin. If one paragraph is not long enough, it wrap additional paragraphs as needed. Since each paragraph has an image, the image in the subsequent paragraphs gets wrapped around as well. The other problem is you are using a flexible width theme which means paragraphs are going to reflow with the width of the browser window. If I narrow my browser, I can get the images to align.

    For this situation (flexible width theme, short paragraphs, image at the beginning of each paragraph), the best thing to do is to put the images and accompanying text into an HMTL table.

  3. The theme you have chosen does not allow for a custom image geader. This image is oversized and must be dleted http://acfitness.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/header1001.png

    The ONLY themes that do allow for custom image headers of specific sizes to be uploaded are listed here http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/
    Instructions for upladoing cusom image headers are found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/#uploading-a-custom-header-image

    Instructions for uploasing images into posts and pages and aligning them correctly are found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/

    Hope this helps. :)

  4. I apologize for the typos above. I'm visually challenged & having a hard time learning how to touch type on a keyboard without lettering. Here is a corrected version:

    P.S. I can now see what thesacredpath has advised. Please see here for placing images in HTML tables > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/03/24/align-images-html-tables-for-wordpress-blogs/

    Simpler, no-table solution: switch the editor to HTML and paste this after each image-text pair:
    <br style="clear:both;" />
