    have been inserting images in jpeg format - using from computer or new uploader and all of a sudden images will
    not upload - says diagnose connection problems or it says IO error - help

    The blog I need help with is tpmozzadventure.wordpress.com.

  2. This problem seems to be happening quite a lot recently and the standard solution given is this:

    1) Clear your browser cache and cookies;
    2) log off from your machine and switch it off;
    3) Re-start your machine;

    You need to switch the machine off because by re-starting PCs don't off load everything and I have tested this many times over the past two weeks.

    Good luck post back.

  3. The I/O error means your computer is not properly responding when reading the data while installing a program. Unless the entire wordpress community is experiencing the problem, IO errors, are typically connectivity issues somewhere between your computer and the wordpress servers (intermediate invisible proxy server issues or network disruptions, etc.). After you try what's suggested above then logging in using the secure https:// log-in see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

  4. possible your pc malware infection... clean cache ...

    recommendation ... use CCLEANER ... to clean...

    hopefully assist.

  5. I have been having the same problem lately. I followed all the above tips and even used ccleaner (which messed up my multi-file uploader- but that's another story). and still kept on getting the IO error.

    I thought it might be one of my plugins so I deactivated all of them and it worked; no IO error. I reactivated each one by one uploading a photo after each activation until I found the culprit. Sometimes plugin updates mess things up.

    It was WP smush.it BTW

    Hi, I've been having this problem for a while now, just thought it was because I'm using this 'freegate' programme, since wordpress is blocked in China, where I am right now. I don't know anything about cache, cookies or plugins, can anybody explain what I should do?

  7. Here is the Cookie Dance explained: http://raincoastermedia.com/2012/05/01/the-cookie-dance/

    It did not work :( still getting the IO error (I restarted my computer)

  10. Search your computer for smush.it and if you have it on your computer, take it off.

  11. It's not on my computer.. Where are all of those plugins listed?
