Imbalance 2 issues

  1. Hello
I am trying to set up the blog using Imbalance 2 theme. I went through many support questions yet I still don't understand. Could somebody give me a few tips?

Here is a blog, it's just an outline so far as I'm trying to understand how it works.

    http://www.karolinapaczkowskaphotography.wordpress.com

The way I would like it to look like is the same as the demo version:

    http://wpshower.com/themes/imbalance-2/

    My questions:

    1. How can I move "categories" from the right side to where the "about" is, remove bullets and make them all black (except when I click on one and they turn red)

    2. How can I create post that will appear as a text + image?

    3. I would like each post to appear in this sequence starting from the top: image, category, title, text - like on the demo version - how to do it?

    Many thanks :)

    Karolina

The blog I need help with is karolinapaczkowskaphotography.wordpress.com.

  2. If you are going to use Imbalance 2 then note these apply to the version of the theme adaopted to run on our WordPress.com software:
    http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/imbalance2/
    http://imbalance2demo.wordpress.com/

Imbalance 2 offers two layout options, fluid and fixed.
Fluid means the width changes according to screen resolution (or the width of browser) your visitors use.
Fixed means the width does not change according to screen resolution (or the width of browser) your visitors use.

Column one is the blog title and tagline; you edit them in Settings > General.
Columns two and three are for two menus; you create and load them in Appearance > Menus - instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
Column four is for widgets; you add them in Appearance > Widgets.

You need to set a featured image in each post in order to see the thumbnail in imbalance 2. Click on the module that has 'featured image' in it (if you don't see the module, look at the top of the editor window for 'screen options' and check it') then the image editor will appear. Browse to the image you want to use, via that, in the usual way, and then when you've found it, click the 'featured image' and when it appears in the module (outside the edit box) just close the image editor, and save your post as usual. An image that works best with featured images at least 210 wide.

  3. Sorry to hijack this thread. I have issues of a different nature with Imbalance 2, hope I may put them here.
I have requested support form WPShower, but they answer questions erratically, so I hope someone here can help me out. Following is the posting on wpshower.com with my question:

So I saw Imbalance 2 and immediately thought: this is what I need! I am using, for now, wordpress.com. I have chosen this theme and it is installed without a problem. However, the front page is not at all what it is supposed to be.

Page layout is as shown in the showcase on the theme page, but the columns of my articles start near the bottom of the page, not immediately below the heather box. I have fiddled around with the settings, but can't change that.
It must be something easy, I'm sure, I have seen several sites using this theme with the correct layout: columns starting immediately below the heather.
At some point in the near future I want to use this theme on my self-hosted site and there I could use a CSS editor to figure things out, but this should not be necessary, I think. Coding HTML is not my strong point, a reason why I chose to use WordPress.

So, is there any explanation on this? I have search the forum here but could not find anything relevant.

    TIA,
    FreeHansje
