I want to import my Blogger blog to WordPress, and have some questions:
1.
When I import the posts from Blogger, will my blog then be deleted from Blogger?
2. Will the comments be imported as well? (important)
3: Will the pictures in the posts be imported as well?
4. Does import from Blogger usually cause trouble?
5. Can I categorise the posts, after they are imported?

Importing from Blogger Beta has been a PIA lately; I advise you to wait a couple weeks before doing it, because of the differences in code change the way the import is done, and it's not as smooth as it used to be.

No. Mine is still at Blogger.
4. Does import from Blogger usually cause trouble?
Try doing this early morning U.S. time when it's slower traffic.
1) Agreed. Only thing that changes is your theme's layout. That's why the instructions mention saving a copy ahead of time as the imported needs to change it to something that it can read.
2) First time this has come up. To be honest I don't know.
3) No, the pictures will not come over. In fact, blogger does not allow hotlinking so you're going to have to move those over manually and relink them. PITA I know.
4) We've had reports of it. I think most of the issue is that Blogger itself doesn't support importing and exporting. The importer is really a work around for the most part. Please note that some folks have reported issues with exporting from Blogger Beta.
Quick aside: Does anyone know if any other blogging packages that do a blogger importer? I can't think of any of the top of my head.
5) Yes. Your posts will be dropped into your default category during tht eimport so you might want to set that if your posts fall into a specific category. Might save you some time down the road.

However, I did not understand this one: "Only thing that changes is your theme's layout" (drmike). Will importing the blogger posts change my theme on WordPress?
Regarding US time, thank you, I did not think of that. I am currently doing Australien time, so I will just have to look it up. But don't US have many time zones?
Regarding the comments, I would still be happy to know, so if anyone read this post and know that, I would appreciate an answer.

yes, comments are also imported provided you are using the blogger comments and not the haloscan ones.
regarding the templates. Yes it's good to save a copy of the templates. The only change i found was the line breaks - the posts in blogger seemed all clumped up without any paragraphs and lined spaces after importing to wordpress. This can be easily fixed by Settings -> Formatting -> Convert Line Breaks -> Yes (in the blogger).
3: Will the pictures in the posts be imported as well?
The pictures will be all linked from your blogger domain or photobucket domain.. or any other that you used. So they'll appear fine in your wordpress post. You have to manually transfer them to wordpress domain if you want to.
5. Can I categorise the posts, after they are imported?
Yes, you have to go to each post in wordpress and categorise them one by one

I did my import last night (German time) and it went all very smoothly. Categorizing is hard work, but I like my new "blog home"

I'm having severe problems importing from Blogger (standard, not Beta): it runs through the publishing stage once, and sometimes twice and then I get a Server Time-out message.
Now, my blog is pretty big, but all the same...

My problem is the same, it runs through the publishing stage and times out. My blog has 3-4 years' worth of stuff, so it is pretty large, but I can't seem to get it to import completely. I'm stuck with hundreds of posts from 3 years ago, but it stops there.

proxiey, we offer assistance here in the forums. What site are you trying to pull in your content from? If it's blogger.com or blogspot.com, please take a look at Dashboard -> Manage -> Import -> Blogger are the instructions are there.

It´s blogger.com.br - the "br" indicate that it´s in a brazillian site. I was successful when imported my blog from blogspot.com.
But I don´t need this blog from blogspot.
In acctually, probably that are differents company. One of them (blogger.com.br) was bought by a Globo.com (from Brazil). In the other hand, blogspot was bought by Google...
