Import from Blogger to WordPress stopped working

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Attempting to import to WordPress from Blogger

    Specifically from
    http://aisforanarchy.blogspot.tw/
    to
    http://aisforanarchy.wordpress.com/

Clicking the "Reset importer" button and the "Clear all information" button under "Restart" does not seem to clear and reset the "Posts" indicator number.

Is there some other way to purge outdated data?

    Thanks!

    Bevin

The blog I need help with is aisforanarchy.wordpress.com.

    Dear timethief,

    Much appreciated!

    Thanks!

  4. You're welcome. :)

  5. I have reset the importer for you, so you can try the import again.

If you continue to have problems with the automatic importer, you can try the manual process at the bottom of the Blogger import window, where you find your export file and click on that to import it. Sometimes our pipeline from Blogger doesn't work as expected, so the manual import is a good option when that happens.

    Dear Jackie,

Thanks for coming to my rescue.

I delayed replying until after reattempting the import process.

As it turns out, I was right to wait. It still isn't working. The "Posts" indicator is still stuck at "38 of 18" and will not reset to "0 of 18".

I tried the XML export from Blogger/import to WordPress method also, several times. So far, no dice.

A message in WordPress reads "Your file has been successfully uploaded. We will begin processing your import right away."

But so far no posts have appeared in WordPress.

If there is something else I can do on my own, that does not require pestering you or your colleagues, I will be glad to do it.

I just don't know enough about PCs and software to do it, unless "Instructions for Dummies" are available. I'm merely an ordinary end user. Not an IT pro.

  7. I've tried clearing out your Blogger connection. Try reconnecting and see if that makes any difference.

Usually Blogger sites import pretty cleanly, and your Blogger blog wasn't that large, so I'm not sure what's happening here. Please give it another shot and if it still isn't working, we'll go from there.

    Dear Jackie,

    Tried yet again. No joy.

"Posts" indicator still stuck at "38/18" also.

This has never happened before. Usually when WordPress personnel intervene, it immediately clears up.

I guess I unwittingly created some sort of "Perfect Storm" by doing the wrong thing at just the wrong time.

  9. Can you upload your Blogger export file to Dropbox or a similar service and link me to the file? I can then try the import on my end and investigate matters further if it still doesn't work properly.

If you don't want to post a public link, you can send it via email with my name in the subject line and a link to this forums post (http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/import-from-blogger-to-wordpress-stopped-working) in the body of the email.

    Dear Jackie,

I sent it to you via email.

I may have inadvertently sent duplicates. The messages failed to show in my mailbox, so I resent them thinking they had been lost.

  11. I received your email and will respond to you there shortly.
