I am trying to import my blog from Typepad and it is not working. I go through the process and receive the email that all worked correctly and yet when I view the blog none of the posts are showing. Can you help me?

About how soon after you start the import do you receive the completion email?

It comes almost immediately after I start the import process. I assume it would take a lot longer if it actually worked. When I open the file entitled (Unnamed_Comet_Asset) it does show all the posts so it appears that it exported from Typepad correctly. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

What file extension does your Typepad export file have? If it's not .xml, try changing the extension to .xml and try the import again.

The type pad export did not seem to have an extension when it was initially exported. The title just said Unnamed_Comet_Asset with no extension. I changed it to a .xml extension but still I received the email immediately after starting the import process and it did not actually import anything. I appreciate your help her macmanx.

Would you please upload the file via Media -> Add New in your blog's Dashboard so I can take a look?

I have tried uploading the file and it is giving me an error message when tying to upload the document. I exported the file again just to make sure nothing was corrupted when I changed to the .xml extension but the same thing happened. If I open the file I do see that all the posts are there so something weird is happening.
Can you suggest another way I can get you the file? Again, your help is most appreciated.

Hm, try giving the file a .doc extension so our uploader will take it.
I'll switch it back once I download it and take a look.

I uploaded the file with a .doc extension and that seemed to work. Good start to the Monday :o) Do I need to do something to provide you with access to view the file?

No, I can see the file, and it looks fine to me.
Would you please try generating a new export file from Typepad, make sure that it has a .xml extension, or give it one if it doesn't, and try the import again?

Generated a new export file, changed the extension and got the same result. An immediate email from WordPress but the import did not take. :o(

Oomph, that's no good. I see nothing that would stop the import from this end really. Would you please contact Typepad about this, maybe there is something wrong with your export file.
