   Is there anyway that you can create a page but it will not show up in the page sidebar. I use the Sapphire theme if that helps.

   Yes. You can edit the page widget and hide it based on page ID

   but it will not allow me to modify the page widget

   What do you mean "it will not allow you to modify the page widget"? What browser are you using?
