Importing database file

  1. I have a PHPNuke site which I want to convert to WP. I'll get a converted file which I need to upload to WP. How do I do it?

    Thanks! :)

The blog I need help with is bhxhui9.wordpress.com.

  2. That is not possible. There is no blogger access to the database on WordPress.com blogs. An XML file is required for impôrting http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

  3. So if I'll have an XML file, I will be able to import it? Through which option of the existing options?

  4. An XML file is required for impôrting http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

  5. None of those existing options include PHPNuke sites. Hence, you will have to first import your content into a WordPress.org install and then create an XML file that you can import into the wordpress.com blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-from-wordpress-org

  6. Understood, but through which option of the existing options? I read the link you give, but there's no XML there.

  7. Let me say that again in another way. As importing from PHPNuke is not an option here http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/ what you propose cannot be done using those options.

  8. OK, I see. Now, assuming that I'm not doing it myself, I'll get a company who claims to be able to convert PHP to WP. How do I import the file I'll get from them?

  9. Importing from WordPress.org to WordPress.com is not problematic. If you don't have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

  10. I'll try, thanks.

  11. I'm sure they will be able to assist you ate WordPress.org support. Best wishes.

  12. Well, no helpfull answer at WP.org, threads are running too fast there.
    Another advice?

    Thanks!
