Importing from Blogger is incomplete

  1. Hello!

I am currently importing my blog from blogger over to my wordpress.com account.

I was able to get the import to work once, but only the post titles and comments were imported - no post content. I restarted and tried importing again.

The progress bar is full, but it still says "Importing" on the side. when I view my blog, I have no posts.

I have tried resetting the importer many times... but I get the same result of no posts being imported over.

    blog url: http://wongjeffrey.wordpress.com

    Thank you for your help!

The blog I need help with is wongjeffrey.wordpress.com.

  2. I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue. Please hang is there as I have flagged this thread for Staff attention.

    Ha ha.

I have been there and done that. I am still loading every single post manually for one of my blogs.

  4. Since you now have post titles, it will consider everything as duplicates and won't re-import anything.

I'll need to empty your blog so you can try again.

Does your blog only have posts from the failed import?

  5. My blog at the moment does not have any posts because I deleted the empty posts and tried to reimport my old blog, but it didn't work and no posts were imported at all.

However, even if I try to reset the importer and reimport it, no posts show up.

Here is what the status bars say when I try to import something:

  6. Your posts are still in the Trash.

You'll need to empty that (found in the Posts area of your Dashboard) first.

  7. hello,
Trash has been emptied. I tried importing again but the posts are still empty.

    I had the same experience.

And when I contacted HEs I was told, sometimes the imports don't work.

I tried it for two or three different URLs. I figured blogger didn't want to lose that particular blog (it was the one that had the most hits of all my blogs).

  9. Ok, one of the importer methods is to upload a Blogger export file. Please give that a shot.

Also, make sure that you're uploading your content export, not your template export.

  10. hey,

    it worked, thanks!
I think the trick was to empty the trash... I tried using a Blogger export file before but it didn't work, possibly because I did not empty the trash.

    thanks again!

  11. You're welcome!
