improve poor websearch results
-
Hi. I have a friend who has a wordpress made site. But search engine results are really poor. I would like to be able to change this, in one way or another. But things like metadata don’t seem to be easily accessed. I’ve made a free wordpress blog/site to try and figure out how to do this, but am having no luck. Can anyone help/advise me on this?
Thanks David

As i suspected, that’s not a wordpress.COM blog but a WordPress.ORG blog. As such, it’s a different version of the software and people here will not provide support for it on a volunteer basis. Several of us do SEO work on a paid basis for outside clients, however, and you can figure on anywhere from about $50 and up for that.
There may be relevant information for free at the WordPress.ORG support forum.

Ok thanks for that. Out of interest, what sort of SEO work would you do to the website, and what sort of results would we get?

I’m not taking on any extra clients at the moment, but without an interview to determine your actual goals for the site, nobody ethical would give you a quote. There is a list of consultants at http://build.codepoet.com/
