Including IMSDb Search into the blog

  1. Hi,
    I'd like to include the IMSDb Search Box in my blog.
    Blog: http://angleika.wordpress.com/
    IMSDb: http://www.imsdb.com/link%20to%20us/

    I tried to copy the code into a widget text but it didn't show properly. The code:
    <form action="http://www.imsdb.com/search.php" method="POST">
    <table width="144" border="1" align=center>
    <tr><td align="center"><input name="search_query" value size="19" maxlength="64"></td></tr>
    <tr><td align="center"><input type="image" border="1" src="http://www.imsdb.com/images/searchbutton.gif" style="border: 1px solid black;" title="Search the Internet Movie Script Database" width=138 height=56></td></tr>
    </table>
    </form>

    Any advice?
    Tanx,

  2. That is an HTML form, and forms are not allowed here for security reasons. See the allowed HTML in the following link.

  3. Thanks!
    That means I cannot include it, because I would have to install a Javascript Plugin, which is not possible for WP.com-blogs?

  4. Javascript does not require a plugin. WordPress.com strips out javascript because it is a security issue on this multi-user platform. Javascript is very powerful and can actually be used to take over or control browsers and since wordpress.com would not have control over the javascript you inserted, you could, either on purpose or unknowingly, insert some code that could bring down the entire system or compromise security, and with over 30 million sites here, wordpress.com takes security very seriously.

  5. Thanks!
