incorrect path for the category link in a post

  1. Hi there,

I'm in the process of building up my blog at WordPress.com. And I notice that all category links in my posts don't appear as they should be.

    E.g. for a post: http://vcrossphoto.wordpress.com/2011/08/09/my-beloved-fafa/
The category link in the line of "Posted on Aug 9, 2011 at 1:30 am in pets" appears as http://en.wordpress.com/tag/pets/. But I think the correct path should be "http://vcrossphoto.wordpress.com/category/pets" instead, right? The categories under my navigation bar look correct though. Could you please help?

    Many thanks and best regards,
    Vienna

The blog I need help with is vcrossphoto.wordpress.com.

  2. All tags and categories in the post area will link to the wordpress.com global tags pages. There is only one theme here that allows you to hide those, and that is iNove. The other option is to set your site to block search engines at settings > privacy (center option) and then the tags and categories in the posts area will go local to your blog.

On some themes, the tags and categories can be hidden with CSS, but that requires the Custom Design upgrade and some CSS experience, and you cannot do it in all themes.

  3. Got it, it works after I change the privacy setting! Thanks very much indeed for your prompt and helpful reply, thesacredpath! :)

  4. You are welcome.

  5. When I strike a category on my posts it returns me to my post rather than directing me to a category. This just started happening.
