Increasing size of blog title

  1. Hi. Probably a dumb question, but how exactly in CSS can I play around with the size of the title of my blog? Want to retain font, but increase the size a bit. I do have the CSS upgrade to allow me to make changes.

    Thank you.

    The blog I need help with is davidderrick.wordpress.com.

  2. Disclaimer: I am not an expert and have never even played one in tv... But since it is Saturday and the experts might not be available.....

    Your title looks like it is wrapped in the H1 tag. This suggestion will change every instance you may have of the H1 and I didn't check to see if it is used elsewhere.

    h1 {font-size: 50px;>

    And play with the number making it larger or smaller.

  3. Oops - correction.
    h1 {font-size: 50px;}

  4. You would put that in your CSS.

  5. I'll see how to and where. Otherwise will reflag this.

    Thank you!

  6. I have to come back, I'm afraid. Where precisely do I write this and what am I overwriting?

    Thanks

  7. You don't overwrite anything. You place this in your CSS box. Here are the directions.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/

    The best way to manage your CSS is to put just your changes in the CSS box. Leave the existing style sheet alone, and just put in your changes. You do this by using this option. That way you will keep your changes separate from the official style sheet. This will make it much easier for you in the long run and keeps you from messing up anything that shouldn't be broken. That way you can just delete what you just wrote and you won't have overwritten anything.

  8. oops - the option is Add my CSS to [your current theme] CSS stylesheet as you will see in the editing css document I linked to.
