I write poetry, and being able to indent lines is very important for me. For some reason a lot of my lines aren't being indented in the published version, even when they're indented in the draft version. Can anyone help with that? Also, is there a way to take my work off of the homepage, so that people have to peruse my pieces by clicking on the individual categories? Thank you so much, in advance.

1) The web standard is no multiple spaces, so you can't "indent" that way: you need some coding in the HTML editor. See here, under "Single line indents" and "First line indents"

2) You need to set your front to display a static page. You do that in Settings > Reading.
