Indexing List of ALL Posts

  • I have been searching for the past hour and haven’t found anything that suits what I am looking for… Basically, I want to be able to make a page on my wordpress blog that lists EVERY entry I have ever made in chronological order. I dont use my blog as an actualy “blog”, I use it as a literary article system in which each article flows into the next, so the current display where it shows only the most recent 10 entries in reverse order doesnt work for me…

I want a page that is an automatically aggregating index of all my articles in chronological order. Very simple; they dont even need to display tags… Although, if newer than 2 week posts could have a *NEW* tag in front of it, that would be even page.

Article 1: Title of Article, posted on <DATE> by <AUTHOR>
Article 2: Title of Article, posted on <DATE> by <AUTHOR>
Article 3: Title of Article, posted on <DATE> by <AUTHOR>
    etc…

If you use the MistyLook theme then the Archives page template does this for the msot recent 50 titles. Example: http://thistimethisspace.com/archives/
From there you can copy and paste the 50 titles periodically onto a static page and have what you want. Otherwise I don’t know an automatic way to do it. You would have to manually enter the titles and dates on a static page.

There is also a book format that you should maybe look at http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/04/how-to-write-a-book/

  • Some of the other themes do that as well I believe. Best bet would be to check Dashboard -> Write -> Page and look under the tab labeled Page Templates along the right. If you see something in there labeled Archives or somethign simular, then use that and create a blank page with an approiate title.

    Hope this helps,
