Insert my upcoming agenda on the sidebar

  1. I am using upcoming.org to share my events with my contacts.
I'd like to insert a badge on the top right of my blog...
    Really unfeasable?
    Thanks

  2. Need to know the code you're trying to add in. All we can do right now is guess. :)

  3. ;)

  4. That's a javascript. Those are removed from all user input due to security concerns. Only thing I can suggest is submitting a feedback with a suggestion to add support for this.

  5. Or move from WordPress.com to .org or any other provider for having a blog like many others?

  6. The issue is since wp.com is a shared environment, allowing javascripts puts everybody at risk. That's why places like myspace and blogger/blogspot get hacked so often since they allow stuff like that. If you grabbed the software from wp.org and found yourself a host, you would only be risking your own blog. You would have to keep up on your own security though.

    It's a tradeoff.

  7. I got the upcoming.org events to appear in my sidebar by adding an RSS widget for it. Only thing is the events display out of chronological order and I'm not sure why. Anyone know how to fix that part? Thanks.

  8. Have you checked the RSS feed in a browser or feed reader to find out if they are in order in the feed itself?

    Trent

  9. Yes, and they aren't in order in the feed either, which I just can't figure out... I sent upcoming.org a message about it too, maybe they can help?

  10. The RSS feed widget will just put in order whatever the feed is I am afraid, so the issue would be with the feed from upcoming.org and need to be brought up with them for sure eskimokiss!

    Trent

  11. ok, hopefully they will be able to help then. I'd imagine I'm probably not the only one who thinks this is weird, that the feed seems to just be some random order. We'll see.... thanks!

  12. Slick workaround. I hope it gets fixed, as this would be a great feature for event bloggers.
