That would be nice. In the mean time there are several free services online that provide watermarking including bulk watermarking. There are 5 reviewed briefly in this post http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2007/10/19/watermark-your-blog-images/
This would be a useful feature for WP.com
If you do not want to use an online program, you can do all of that through Photoshop and other programs. It is just a setting that you add on to your photos in the end and the watermark is posted. It only takes a minute.
I imagine having WP do it automatically though would not allow for much personalization for each person's photos. That would just eat up major amounts of space and create longer loading times.
