Inuit Theme - Menu - Featured Picture or Photo

  1. I'm using the Inuit theme. I created a menu which contains a category of photos. The idea is to provide a tab in the menu to access all the photos posted. The tab is called "...through my eyes...". The tab is working fine excepts that the list of post do not have any picture or photo associated with them.

Is there any way to show the featured picture? Is there any way to show the entire post instead of post summaries?

The blog I need help with is lifenbits.com.

  2. If you want a gallery of photos on a static pages then
    create a static page > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
    upload images > http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/
    create a gallery > http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/
include the static page in your custom menu

Category/archive pages: full posts or not
In the majority of themes, posts in category or monthly archive pages show up just as they do in the main posts page. But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails.

    We cannot edit Category pages.

Inuit Types provides only beginnings of posts. If you wish to display the whole post then you have two choices.
    1. Copy and past the entire post you create into the Excerpt box below the Editor box and publish.
    2. Choose another theme.

    Featured images

    Inuit Types
    Thumbnail: 90 x 75 for non-featured posts on index
    One-column feature: 594 x 250
    Two-column feature: 278 x 150

  3. Thanks timethief. I used to have a static page with the photos but the "problem" was, new photos wouldn't get published because they where just and update of the page. I change to a category in the menu, in order to publish the new photos. But the category page do not show the photo unless you click at the post.

I will have to choose between a Gallery in a static pages (I didn't know about the galleries, thanks!) or a new theme and add -more- to posts.....

  4. You're welcome.

  5. @timethief, I will be able to keep the Inuit theme. I was able to set the menu page the way I wanted. I followed choice 1 above, and copied all the post to the excerpt box. I had to delete some "[caption]" and add some "
" but it worked fine. Thanks again.

  6. I wrote the code for a line break and it did a line break....

it shour read: "...and add some line breaks but it worked fine..."

  7. You're welcome.
