I had the same problem: invalid request when I clicked publish. Same as redgrange, I selected my text and pictures, ctrl-C, went to top left corner, selected New Post in a new tab, pasted with ctrl-V, and publish worked.

Me too…. And it´s not for the first time in the last couple of months. Very annoying and it does not encourage me to get the version you pay for.

I am not able to post from the main page. I can only post by going through the dashboard. I am also getting “Invalid Request” sometimes when I try to post. If I upgrade to Pro, will there be a number to call for support?

Just as an update to the above… I am trying to post a Photo Blog item and I get the Invalid Request. While I can still post through the advanced Dashboard option, there is not an option to post a Photo like Blog, just to insert photos into a text blog.
So my problem is with the Home Page Blog post – http://wordpress.com/#!/post/
As opposed to the http://<BLOGNAME>.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php – which is OK.

I have starting using the Dashboard Post Items rather than the Home Page one. The Home Page simplified Post option is where the Invalid Request occurs. I suspect it might be due to some changes behind the scenes?
To get the Dashboard one, hover over your user icon (top right), then scroll down to the last item and hover. Here you should see options for;
Dashboard
New Post… etc – Try using this New Post option. This works for me. It is a little more complex/advanced but it works. -

@everygirlsbff
Do you have better luck if you post via Posts -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard? http://everygirlsbff.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php -
