I've read through the forum posts and help files on the issue of invites, and something needs to be seriously fixed in the UI.
When inviting someone to your WordPress.com blog, there is an option to "Add user to my blog as a contributor" which implies that when they accept the invitation, they will be automatically added to the blog as a contributor.
In reality, they get an invite to WordPress.com. That's it. If you want them to be a contributor, author, or whatever on your blog, you have to add them manually.
This used to be automatic. I see from some posts earlier this year that the automatic part was broken but should be fixed by now. We've had a bunch of people for a P2 multiple contributor site having a lot of confusion and frustration because of this issue.
Am I misunderstanding how this works or is the invite and add user to my blog function still not working?
