Ip address of Blog?

  1. Hi-

I've been trying to find the Ip address of http://www.nwarmy.wordpress.com, but whenever I trace it, I get connected to WordPress.com. Is there any way i JUST connect to this one blog?

    Thanks :)

  2. You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.

This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you'll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

If you don't understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, you may find this information helpful.

If you forgot to include a link to your blog, you can reply and include it below. It'll help people to answer your question.

    This is an automated message.

  3. (1) No wordpress.com blogs have "www" in the URLs. All URLs begin with http:// and including a comma at the end of a URL renders it invalid - cannot be loaded.

Try http://nwarmy.wordpress.com if you want to link to the blog.

    (2) Why do you want the IP of the blogger there? What useful purpose would it serve to know it? Obviously, wordpress.com's privacy section makes it clear they will not be giving out personal information unless they receive court orders.

  4. I want to know the actual IP of the site, so I can navigate to it- with or without Proxies.

  5. Look I gave you the URL - use it!

  6. @TT The link goes to a CP blog maybe they want the IP address because of some kind of CP drama because the OP has a CP blog also.

  7. @t3ck
That's what I surmised as well. However what he's asking for is not going to be revealed to him by wordpress.com Staff - no court order - no way - no how.

  8. This seems to be one of those half-informed dramaquests which is operating on long-outdated concepts of IP.

  9. WordPress.com blogs don't have one IP address. They have many.

There's no way to navigate to a WordPress.com blog using only the IP, you have to use the hostname, which you already know. (That's the same for most modern web servers).
