ipad users

  1. iPad users used to see a neat display when they got to my blog site and I had the ability to allow them to see a neat first page as well. It seems in the last several months that ability has disappeared. Ive tried to search for answers to this problem, but I probably don't know how to word it to get the answer.

My word press app works fine. I am just wondering how to change what others see when they use their tablet to view my site. I'm not sure why this changed. My mobile themes have been enabled all along but it seems like some options there have changed since I first began my site. Thanks for your help!

The blog I need help with is jenandrews.com.

  2. Hi there,

I checked and was able to confirm that you still have the mobile version of your site enabled. Could you explain to me what you mean by you've lost the ability to show them a neat first page? Did you have a different page that used to show on your mobile site only?

    Best!

  3. Hey! Thanks for the quick reply and sorry I wasn't clear enough. If someone were to look up my site on their iPhone they would see the entire first page displayed, but in a different arrangement than the normal computer visual. The mobile thing works here. However, when someone looks up my site on their ipad, the banner displayed across the top is cut off and the rest of the content is squeezed. When I first started the website, ipad users could go to my site and I had it set so a "cover" page was visible and then you could swipe the screen and see the whole site. The display was neat and all of it was visible. I have noticed that the mobile options on my dashboard differ from when I started this up back in August, but I was still new so I'm not exactly sure what is missing. Maybe I am and once I find me I will be back on track again! Seriously though, thanks for your help and I hope I explained it a little better.

  4. Hi there,

    Thanks for the clarification.

The cover page you are referring to was part of the Onswipe iPad theme, which is no longer available. We're continually exploring the best way for visitors to view your blog. Because of some of the limitations of that theme it was determined that it was best to show iPad users the same version that a desktop browser would receive.

    Best!
