Is it just me or are we getting more people here who just don't give 2 $h*ts about being courteous in the forums. We all utilize them to help our blogs and to get traffic and promote traffic for others, but some people just can't get it and they spam the crap out of everything they can. I mean, it's not that hard to read and understand instructions right?
Sorry for my butthurtedness... just venting.

The blog I need help with is kymleemurphy.wordpress.com.
What we're seeing is what staff sees all the time. If you don't have any paid upgrades, your 'help inquiries' go straight to the forum, so we have things like people giving their passwords, thinking only staff can see them, people venting, etc.
It's irritating, no doubt, and I've gone off on a few of the more annoying ones, but they don't realize when they're making hte posts that they will be public, so I cut them more slack than I usually would.
I understand. I guess I miss the old forums, everyone was pretty intelligent, people were courteous to one another, everyone tried to promote not only themselves but others and it was a really good thing. Or maybe I'm just more cynical now vs 3 yrs ago. Eh. It is what it is I suppose. How have YOU been Raincoaster? ;)
I'm fine, thanks, but dealing with writer's block, as you can see from my blog. Got to stop procrastinating at some point.
Trust me, you're not the only one. The forums definitely lack a certain something.

Hah a lot of the people I spoke to even almost a year ago seem to have disappeared now, TT doesnt like when she says most blogs don't last a year.

I'm glad you're well, writers block is not fun. I had it so bad that I went on an 8 month hiatus from writing a little while ago. It's hard to stay focused, for me anyways. I hope you get your inspiration back :)

lol. it's just so different now, maybe it's being away from something and not being around for all the changes and then coming back to a whole mess, even if it was kinda sorta like that before, I didn't notice, but now it's all I see

However, your complete lack of support and rudeness makes it terribly frustrating. I will terminate my blog and go elsewhere. I've already called American Express and asked that the monies I paid wordpress earlier today not be issued.

I can't believe staff haven't deleted it yet. Sometimes they leave one particularly humorous one up. Mark used to let me get away with murder. I remember once I started a reply with "Look, Princess..." and just kept going from there and the head of Support emailed me to say "We should probably take that down, but we won't because it was just too awesome."
That was in response to someone who didn't want links to the answers. Didn't want links to other forum threads. Didn't want a copy/paste. Wanted a full-on original easy to understand answer to some bog-standard question like "how do I change themes."

It's not just you. I have been attcked on the forums by people who have a functional IQ equivalent to a banana slug and there I was without the salt cellar.

I'm a feaisty Celt and I can spit words that would melt a special snowflake from a mile away. However, my chosen practice is the path of the peaceful warrior.

I'm so tired. I worked all night on a contract job and it still not done. :( Having the time to blog would be blissful.
Personally, I miss the religious nuts, trying to convert followers to their cause via the power of poor grammar.
The forums have definitely deteriorated. Finding an interesting topic is hard to come by these days. I hope more people cycle through and change things up a bit with the exception of the regulars that have been around for a long time. The same questions are repeated over and over again, which tells me there are a lot of new people that won't stay long.
It's not just that they're new: it's that the Support Help form dumps them straight into the forum, and they don't realize these things will end up as forum posts.

@kymleemurphy Hey! How are you? I hardly ever come to the forums anymore (for all the reasons you gave) and didn't realize you posted here. Aside from the word association thread, I don't much participate.
I miss the old forums. It's amazing how much changes in a year. :-(
hey Momfog! Missed you too!!! oo this is the old gang, huge smile! I'm fantastic, pluggin along, doing the music thing, still self marketing (rather miserably I might add) and trying to stay busy.
It really is crazy how much changes in a yr. I used to love reading the forums, now, not as much.
I have this mental image of women jumping up and down while madly flapping their hands about and squealing with delight. I'll shut door on me way out. :)

@jessielansdel That's funny. I don't know about @kymleemurphy but I don't jump up and down or squeal with delight. Ever. And the only time I ever flapped my hands about is when I hit my thumb with a hammer. :-)
that imagery was reminisce of a looney toons episode with Elmer Fudd I think. That was quite funny to watch just now in my head!
