Is it possible to transfer domain from wordpress.com to .org now?

I purchased my domain name with wordpress.com on Nov. 6th. I've since learned that for what I want to do I need to be at wordpress.org. I'm trying to find out if there is a way to transfer the domain to bluehost.com now instead of having to wait 60 days. I'm kind of desperate here and appreciate any assistance!

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is lizzieg.com.

  2. No there is not. the 60 day ICANN rule applies universally. Moreoever, it's not necessary to transfer the domain registration at all. Not changing it in no way affects your move to a WordPress.org install.
    see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/cancel-domain/#transfer-a-to-another-registrar
    and here > http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#transfer-to-another-registrar

  3. You do not need to transfer your domain to bluehost. All you need to do is set up the account over there and once it is activated by bluehost, you go into your domain management here and point your domain name at bluehost as outlined here:

Thank you so much! I have followed the direction and pointed it to bluehost so hopefully this will work.

    Thanks again!

  5. You are welcome. It can take up to 72 hours (typically 24 or less) for the change to take place. How soon you will see the change depends entirely on how often your ISP updates their DNS caches.
